GUYANA | President Granger cleared to return home on Tuesday

GEORGETOWN, Guyana, November 19, 2018 - Having received his first round of chemotherapy from his doctors in Cuba for Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma, President David Granger has been given permission by his doctors to travel, and  is scheduled to return to Guyana tomorrow. It is expected that he may have to return to Cuba for further treatment.

GUYANA | Documents filed with ICJ to prove Guyana's Territorial Rights

GEORGETOWN, Guyana, November 19, 2018 -  The Cooperative Republic of Guyana Guyana on Monday filed documents at the International Court of Justice (ICJ) seeking its confirmation,  in a final and binding judgment, the full legal validity of the arbitral award that established the international boundary between Guyana and Venezuela more than a century ago.

GUYANA | US now backs Guyana in border row with Venezuela

GEORGETOWN, November 17, 2018 - The official United States (US)  position on the Guyana-Venezuela border controversy has shifted in favour of Guyana. This is the word from the US Deputy Chief of Mission in Guyana, Terry Steers-Gonzalez, who noted that previously, the US would simply support a timely resolution of the controversy. Now it wants the 1899 arbitration award respected.

GUYANA | Jagdeo’s no-confidence motion will be defeated says APNU+AFC

GEORGETOWN, GUYANA,  November 16, 2018 - Jagdeo's no-confidence motion will be defeated. This is the word from governing coalition A Partnership for National Unity+ Alliance For Change (APNU+AFC) which said on Friday that all of its 33 parliamentarians will unite in voting down the no-confidence motion moved by the Opposition.
