Jamaica to ramp up maritime surveillance

KINGSTON, Jamaica Oct 22, 2014 - National Security Minister Peter Bunting, says the country’s maritime surveillance capacity, encompassing monitoring of the country’s territorial waters, will have to be ramped up, as part of the Government’s Ebola preparedness and response mechanism.

Jamaica bans travellers from Ebola infected countries

KINGSTON, Jamaica, October 17, 2014,– As Caribbean countries continue to put in place measures to deal with a possible outbreak of the deadly Ebola virus in the region, Jamaica has joined St. Lucia, St. Vincent and the Grenadines and St. Kitts/ Nevis  in placing  a ban on nationals from Liberia, Sierra Leone, and Guinea entering their countries.
