Guyana: Secret accord sought in bid to oust ruling PPPC Gov’t

GEORGETOWN, Guyana December 3, 2014 - As the Donald Ramotar led People’s Progressive Party Civic’s (PPPC) government gets ready to call general elections in Guyana,  minority opposition party The Alliance For Change (AFC) on Saturday said it was seeking an agreement with the Partnership for National Unity (APNU) for the two organisations to hold secret talks on a proposed pro-democracy alliance.

GEORGETOWN, Guyana, Nov. 23, 2014 – Guyana’s Opposition A Partnership for National Unity (APNU) has called for general elections, in light of the prorogation or suspension of Parliament by the President and the apparent deadlock between the government and the opposition.

Ramotar outfoxes Guyana Opposition ahead of no-confidence motion

GUYANESE are currently anxiously monitoring political developments between the Government and the parliamentary Opposition following last Monday's dramatic suspension by the country's parliament by Head of State, Donald Ramotar, in the face of a then looming "no-confidence" motion against his People's Progressive Party-led Administration.
