The Dominican National Police and agents of the Central Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DICRIM), said they had dismantled a mobile used to produce the false documents.
They said one man had been arrested in one of the two vehicles used to produce the false documents, while two other accomplices are being sought by law enforcement authorities.
The police said that during the joint operation they seized a photo printer, 25 printing paper units, 119 passports, 196 birth certificates, 58 birth certificate extracts, 454 receipt of application for withdrawal of passports and a marriage certificate.
Figures released by the Dominican Republic recently showed that for the first two weeks of July this year, a total of 4,143 undocumented Haitian migrants living here had been returned to the French-speaking Caribbean Community (CARICOM) country.
The figures show that 2,170 were expelled by the Dominican authorities and 1,973 returned voluntarily.
