Guadeloupe formally joins the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States

BASSE TERRE- Guadeloupe, March 19, 2019 - The Caribbean island of Guadeloupe - an overseas Department of France, has formally joined the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS) - a regional grouping comprising the independent and non independent countries of Antigua and Barbuda, Commonwealth of Dominica, Grenada, Montserrat, St. Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, St Vincent and The Grenadines, British Virgin Islands, Anguilla and Martinique.

Tuesday, March 19, 2019 — A new chapter of cooperation has commenced between Guadeloupe and the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States promising to open up new social, cultural and economic opportunities for citizens across the growing regional grouping of independent and non-independent countries.

CARICOM, OECS delegations tour Guadeloupe geothermal plant

Basseterre, St. Kitts –  St. Kitts and Nevis Minister of Public Infrastructure with responsibility for energy, the Honourable Ian Patches Liburd, on Thursday led Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS) and Caribbean Community (CARICOM) delegates to the only active geothermal plant in the Caribbean in Bouillante, Guadeloupe.
