GUYANA | APNU+AFC wants Facebook to block PPP political ads calculated to rig elections

GEORGETOWN, Guyana, (Demerara Waves) - May 13, 2019 - Fearing that the opposition People’s Progressive Party (PPP) has hired an American firm to post customised messages to Guyanese Facebook users’ accounts, Public Security Minister Khemraj Ramjattan has announced that the governing APNU+AFC coalition would ask that social media giant to block such messages that are calculated to rig Guyana’s next general election.

GUYANA | GECOM says November is earliest date for elections

GEORGETOWN,  Guyana, March 19, 2019 - President David Granger has been advised by Guyana Elections Commission (GECOM) Chairman James Patterson, that the closest possible date for national elections will be in November following completion of the house-to-house registration process.
