GUYANA | President Granger heads to Cuba for medical check up

GEORGETOWN, Guyana, October 17, 2019  – President David Granger Wednesday advised that will be travelling to Cuba on Saturday for a medical check-up in relation to his diagnosis of non-Hodgkin Lymphoma for which he has been receiving treatmentt in Cuba since last year.

KINGSTON, Jamaica, October 2019 - Two Jamaican organizations, the Jamaica Cuba Friendship Association (JCFA) and the Pan-African Federalist Movement of Jamaica have condemned, attempts by the United States of America, to asphyxiate the Cuban economy and bring untold hardship on its people by escalating the economic embargo via the Helms-Burton Act.

Cuban Economy Will Not Enter Recession Despite Blockade: Report

Despite the recent tightening of the U.S. economic blockade, Cuba’s economy is showing resilience and will not enter recession, instead will enjoy small growth over the coming year, according to forecasts published by ‘Economic Commission for Latin America and the Carribean’(CEPAL) one of the regions leading think tanks.
