Persons earning above J$6M to pay 30% Income Tax as of July 1, 2016

KINGSTON, JAMAICA JUNE 27, 2016 - As of July 1, 2016, persons who earn above J$6-million per annum will see a 5% upward movement in the tax charged on their income, moving from 25% to 30% as announced during the FY2016/17 Budget presentation, by the Minister of Finance and the Public Service, Audley Shaw.

Shaw flays JA’s lack of growth in regional trading.

KINGSTON, Jamaica — May 13, 2016 - Jamaica's Finance Minister Audley Shaw has lamented his country's  lopsided trade imbalance with Trinidad and Tobago pointing out that Jamaica’s largest export to Trinidad and Tobago were  not manufactured products but rather, “empty oil tanks.”
