Granger denies political interference in Guyana Chronicle

GEORGETOWN, March 28, 2018 - Guyana's President David Granger has washed his hands of any complicity in the firing of two columnists from the state-owned Chronicle newspaper, which resulted in the resignation of three  directors of the newspaper's Board of Directors.

GDF to brief parliamentary committee on security situation near Venezuela border

GEORGETOWN, Guyana February 28, 2018 -  President David Granger on Tuesday said he has instructed the Guyana Defence Force to brief the bipartisan parliamentary committee on security about steps being taken to secure communities located along the 800 kilometre border with Venezuela as a result of the unstable situation in that country, as well as the ongoing border controversy.
