World economy 'facing increasing risks' says IMF Managing Director

BUENOS AIRES,  Argentina, July 22, 2018 - Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Ms. Christine Lagarde, says the world economy is facing increasing risks, especially in the short term, from rising trade tensions, financial pressures in vulnerable emerging economies, and the return of sovereign risk in parts of the euro area.

140 Socialist Political Parties Back BDS, Embargo on Israel

The Socialist International, or SI, has endorsed the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement in their call for the rights of Palestinian people. In doing so, the organization, which is a global alliance of 140 political parties, as well as 35 parties currently in national governments, urged for a military embargo to be imposed against Israel until it ceases its violations against the Palestinian people.
