The GCAA said the accident occurred shortly after takeoff at the Eteringbang airstrip in the Cuyuni/Mazaruni area of Region 7, at approximately 11 am today.
The pilot of the Cessna aircraft escaped without any serious injuries.
The Civil Aviation Authority said that preliminary reports indicate that the plane was on a shuttling mission from Eteringbang to Ekereku when the incident occurred.
The Pilot suffered minor injuries. Officials from the Accident and Investigation Group supported by a team from GCAA is en route to the crash site to start their investigations.
The accident is the second in two weeks at the same airstrip. In the first incident, the pilot, Captain Collin Martin, a former Guyana Defence Force pilot, of the Roraima Airways, died.
Manager at Wings Aviation, Carl Bowen, confirmed the latest accident, but said that the pilot, Doninique Waddell, was the only person on board the aircraft.
Wings Aviation, which falls under the same company that owns Fly Jamaica Airways, operates several flights daily to various parts of the interior and across Guyana.
