GUYANA | Political Parties nominate for March 2 General and Regional Elections

GEORGETOWN, Guyana, January 10, 2020 - Guyana's political parties, including  its two largest political organisations — A Partnership for National Unity+Alliance For Change (APNU+AFC) and the People’s Progressive Party (PPP) — marched through the streets of Georgetown to Umana Yana today,where they handed in their nomination papers to the Guyana Elections Commission, in their bid to contest the March 2 General elections.

GUYANA | ExxonMobil discovers oil offshore Guyana at Mako-1 well

IRVING, Texas December 23, 2019 – ExxonMobil said today it made an oil discovery offshore Guyana at the Mako-1 well southeast of the Liza field, marking the 15th discovery on the Stabroek Block. The discovery adds to the previously announced estimated recoverable resource of more than 6 billion oil-equivalent barrels on the Stabroek Block.

GUYANA | ExxonMobil begins oil production in Guyana

IRVING, Texas December 20, 2019 -  ExxonMobil today announced that oil production has started from the Liza field offshore Guyana ahead of schedule and less than five years after the first discovery of hydrocarbons, which is well ahead of the industry average for deepwater developments.
