TRINIDAD | Sections of TT Sedition Act Unconstitutional says High Court

TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO, January 13, 2020 - Trinidad and Tobago’s High Court has struck down Sections 3, 4 and 13 of the country’s Sedition Act, as they infringe the fundamental rights guaranteed under the constitution, and “contravene the principle of legality in that they are vague, uncertain and therefore illegal, null and void and of no legal effect, unconstitutionally vague and offend the rule of law.”

TT | Trinidad moves to decriminalize ganja, promote medicinal cannabis

PORT OF SPAIN, November 23, 2019 - Trinidad and Tobago has no intention to be left behind while other CARICOM countries move towards decriminalization of ganja, and to capitalize on the growing medicinal cannabis industry within the region. To this end, Attorney General Faris Al-Rawi on Friday presented two bills in parliament: an amendment to the Dangerous Drugs Act and a Cannabis Control Authority Bill.
