IMF Executive Board approves Immediate Debt Relief for 25 countries

Washington, DC – April 13, 2020  The Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Ms. Kristalina Georgieva, says the  Executive Board approved immediate debt service relief to 25 of the IMF’s member countries under the IMF’s revamped Catastrophe Containment and Relief Trust (CCRT) as part of the Fund’s response to help address the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.

RIYADH, February 22, 2020 - Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Ms. Kristalina Georgieva today sounded a note of caution to G20 Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors Meeting in Riyadh, that the global health emergency caused by the COVID-19 virus needs global cooperation in order to be contained.
