CUBA | US isolated globally by blockade against Cuba
Havana, Jun 24 (Prensa Latina) The world support against the blockade policy imposed against Cuba by the United States Government on Thursday confirms Washington's isolation in its insistent siege against Caribbean nation.

With 184 votes for, two against (the United States and Israel) and three abstentions (Brazil, Colombia and Ukraine), the resolution submitted by the Cuban delegation to the United Nations received almost unanimous approval in the face of the White House commercial, financial and economic persecution.

After these results were announced, Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel described the vote at the headquarters of the multilateral organization as a resounding victory.

Diaz-Canel thanked the global support and denounced that the US 'cynical, lying and slanderous imperial discourse' is as immoral, shameless and obsolete as the criminal blockade is.

'The United States is isolated, it has no right to sanction. Our gratitude to the peoples and Governments that support us,' the Cuban president wrote on his Twitter account.

More than 15 nations and international organizations, such as the Non-Aligned Movement, the Group of 77 plus China and the Caribbean Community, denounced the damages caused by that mechanism and demanded its end.

In his presentation of the document, Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez assured that from April 2019 to December 2020, the blockade caused losses estimated at 9.1 million dollars.
