BARBADOS | B'dos Economic Recovery Strong says IMF , Receives US139M drawdown

Washington, DC – June 3, 2020. The Executive Board of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) concluded the third review of the IMF’s extended arrangement under the Extended Fund Facility (EFF) for Barbados. The completion of the review allows the authorities to draw the equivalent of SDR 101 million (about US$139 million), bringing total disbursements to the equivalent of SDR 206 million (about US$283 million).

CARICOM | Foreign Ministers Object to EU Financial Blacklisting

MONTEGO BAY, Jamaica May 12, 2020 - While Guyana has been delisted from the European Commission’s money laundering list, joining countries like Ethiopia, Sri Lanka and Tunisia, the Council for Foreign and Community Relations (COFCOR), has rejected the arbitrary and unilateral imposition of blacklisting by the EU on several Member States of the Community.

BARBADOS Reports Sixth COVID-19 Deaths and 76 confirmed Cases

BRIDGETOWN, April 23, 2020 -  Barbados has recorded its sixth death to COVID-19 with the total number of positive cases to 76  with 39 females and 37 males. To date, 27 persons have recovered and there are 43 persons in isolation.

COVID-19 UPDATE | Most of Cuba's COVID-19 deaths have been men

Havana, April 23  Cuba's Ministry of Public Health on Thursday said men accounted for 67.5 percent of the 43 killed by Covid-19 in Cuba. Thus the lethality due to this disease, which is caused by the SARS-Cov-2 coronavirus, is greater in men.
