KINGSTON, March 20, 2015 - The medical emergency response system has been bolstered with the addition of six ambulances, donated by the Government of Japan, through its Grass Roots Human Security Project.
KINGSTON, Jamaica, March 12, 2015 - The Government through the Ministry of Health, has injected $35.4 million into critical medical research including cancer care, being conducted by the University of the West Indies (UWI) to address serious health conditions affecting Jamaicans.
Minister of Health, Dr. Fenton Ferguson says the removal of donor funding for health programmes puts the current achievements at risk of reversal. He said in this regard several factors apart from countries’ National Income should be considered when determining whether donor funding is provided to assist with the public health sector.
KINGSTON, Monday, February 16, 2015- Minister of Health Dr. Fenton Ferguson says the Government, through the Ministry of Health is to spend $54.4 million to implement a Measles Prevention Campaign, which will run from February 16 to May 8, 2015.
Five public health institutions are to be upgraded as part of the Ministry of Health’s North to West Trauma Plan, the centrepiece of the Government’s thrust to become the Caribbean’s leader in Health Tourism.
