GUYANA | Digicel slams gov’t for “dark ages” telecoms sector, as GTT celebrates 29 years

GEORGETOWN,  Guyana, January 31, 2020 - A day after the Minister of Public Telecommunications, Cathy Hughes, boasted of improved Internet access, Digicel Guyana used results of a petition to lampoon the administration for foot-dragging on liberalising the telecoms sector to coincide with the Guyana Telephone and Telegraph Company’s (GTT) 29-year-old monopoly.

NEW YORK--January 27, 2020 - (BUSINESS WIRE)--Hess Corporation (NYSE: HES) today announced another oil discovery offshore Guyana at the Uaru well, the 16th discovery on the Stabroek Block. The company also announced an increase in the estimated gross discovered recoverable resources for the block to more than 8 billion barrels of oil equivalent, up from the previous estimate of 6 billion barrels of oil equivalent.
