TULLOCH CASTLE, St James, December 28, 2014  — University of the West Indies Professor Verene Shepherd says the Emancipation War of 1831 was not as spontaneous as some historians would want us to believe, as the records indicate that it was well planned by Sam Sharpe and his collaborators.
