CARICOM | Member States to get additional training in e-procurement system

CARICOM Secretariat, Turkeyen, Greater Georgetown, Guyana - Friday, 26 February 2021 - Caribbean Community (CARICOM) Member States will be exposed to further capacity building in the use of online systems for executing procurement when they participate in a virtual training exercise on the Community Public Procurement Notice Board (CPPNB).

GUYANA | AG says no to visa free entry for Haitians, Walton Desir disagrees

GEORGETOWN,  Guyana, December 5, 2020 - Guyana’s Attorney General Anil Nandlall says Haitians are not entitled to visa free entry to Guyana or consideration under sections of the Fundamental Rights provisions of Guyana’s constitution as Haiti has not signed onto the free movement aspect of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) Single Market and Economy (CSME).

GUYANA | Opposition Leader seeks CARICOM's position on plight of detained Haitians

MONTEGO BAY, December 5, 2020 - Guyana’s Opposition Leader Joseph Harmon, has written to CARICOM’s Chairman Dr. Ralph Gonsalves outlining the plight of 26 Haitians who were legally landed in that country on November 7, and are being denied their rights by the Irfaan Ali administration under the CARICOM Revised Treaty of Chaguaramas.

JAMAICA | PJ Patterson Pays Tribute to former B'dos PM, Owen Arthur

MONTEGO BAY, Jamaica, July 27, 2020 - With the passing of former Barbados prime minister Owen Arthur on Monday, tributes have been pouring in from many of the Caribbean region's leaders. These include Dr. Ralph Gonsalves who has referred to him as a titan of regional integration, Sir Shridath Ramphal who lamented that Barbados had lost a great son and Sir Ronald  Sanders who described Arthur as a Caribbean champion.

CARICOM Institutions Need To Give More Info About Roles

BRIDGETOWN,  November 4, 2019 - If the CSME is to achieve socio-economic development, then more institutions in the region need to be part of the consultative process, and to better inform the people of the Caribbean about their role.
