GUYANA | AG wants High Court to nullify election petition because Granger was served late

GEORGETOWN,  Guyana, November 20, 2020 - Demerara Waves -  Attorney General Anil Nandlall has asked the High Court to strike out one of two election petitions challenging the results of the March 2, 2020 general and regional elections on the grounds that it was served to APNU+AFC Representative of the List, David Granger  four days late.

GUYANA | Charges against GECOM Staff could be thrown out if they impact Election Petition

GEORGETOWN, Guyana, October 17, 2020 -  Lead Counsel for APNU/AFC Roysdale A. Forde, has cautioned that private and other charges that have been brought against members of the staff of the Guyana Elections Commission could be considered null and void, as the charges may have a direct impact on elections petitions filed by the opposition in August, and which will shortly be heard by the Supreme Court.

Trinidad High Court dismisses election petitions of opposition party

PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad, Aug 19, CMC – A High Court judge Friday dismissed the election petitions filed by the main opposition United National Congress (UNC) challenging the results of the September 2015 general elections acknowledging that while the Elections and Boundaries Commission (EBC) had breached the election laws, there was not sufficient evidence to declare the polls null and void.
