GUYANA | Chief Elections Officer seeks clarification for final report

GEORGETOWN, Guyana. July 10, 2020 -  Today’s meeting of the Guyana Elections Commission ended after more than two hours with no final report being submitted by the Chief Election Officer after he sought a number of clarifications from the Chairman of the Elections.

GUYANA | What constitutes a valid vote?

GEORGETOWN, Guyana, June 24, 2020- Guyana Chronicle  - The Appellate Court has affirmed that the Chief Elections Officer (CEO), Keith Lowenfield, must ascertain a winner of Guyana’s 2020 General and Regional Elections from only valid votes cast. However, to understand what constitutes a “valid” vote, one must turn to the Constitution and the laws which guide Guyana’s current electoral process.

GUYANA | Oral arguments heard in election challenge, case 'premature' says GECOM

CARICOM Team presents technically deficient report

Consequent upon the presentation of the CARICOM Observer Report 2020 at the conclusion of the March 2 2020, General Election recount, the Chair of the Guyana Elections Commission gave the Chief Elections Officer the instruction to submit his report containing results for a possible declaration.

GUYANA VOTES | Another Court Action delays Guyana election results

GEORGETOWN, Guyana, June 18, 2020 - The final conclusion of the March 2 Guyana General and Regional Elections has again been delayed by yet another court action. This time its a court order restraining the Chief Elections Officer from complying with the order of the Chair of the Elections Commieeion to submit his report finalizing  the recount.
