JAMAICA | Petrojam ordered to pay dismissed general manager $15.8 million

KINGSTON, Jamaica, September 10, 2020 - The Industrial Disputes Tribunal (IDT) has  sent a strong signal to companies regarding the summary dismissal of employees, ruling that former General Manager of the  State Oil company Howard Mollison be paid $15.8 million in compensation as he was unjustifiably dismissed four years ago.

JAMAICA |Angry Opposition Senators walk out of Upper House

KINGSTON, Jamaica July 5, 2019 - Opposition members walked out of the Senate this afternoon, after the speaker ruled that Senator Lambert Brown’s contribution to the debate on the Petroleum Amendment Act, which would see the money held in the PetroCaribe Fund transferred to the Consolidated Fund lacked relevance, and ruled him out of order.
