AFRICA | Mali president Ibrahim Keita resigns after military Coup

BAMAKO,  Mali, August 19, 2020 - Mali President Ibrahim Boubacar Keita resigned at about midnight on Tuesday and dissolved parliament hours after soldiers in an apparent coup, detained him at gunpoint, plunging a country already facing an insurgency and mass protests deeper into crisis.
