JAMAICA | Jamaica Records 38 COVID-19 deaths, 114 new cases over the past 24 hours

KINGSTON, SEPTEMBER 10, 2020 –  As Jamaica continues to battle the COVID-19 virus amidst the recently announced community spread, the Ministry of Health & Wellness confirms two new COVID-19-related deaths bringing the total number of  deaths to 38 (1.1%), while four more deaths in COVID-19 positive individuals are under investigation.

KINGSTON, September 7, 2020 – Jamaica Labour party (JLP) Leader Andrew Holness in the wake of his 48-15 seat victory over its rival Peoples National Party, (PNP), in Thursday’s general elections, was today sworn-in for a second consecutive term as Prime Minister of Jamaica. Four key ministers in the Holness Cabinet have also been sworn-in.

JAMAICA | Thirty-Three dead from COVID-19, total cases: 3,103.

KINGSTON,  September 7, 2020 - The Ministry of Health & Wellness has confirms one new COVID-19-related death. The deceased is a 54 year old male from St. James. The total number of deaths now stand at 33 (1.1%), while five more deaths in COVID-19 positive individuals are under investigation.

JAMAICA | JLP defeats PNP in Shocking 49-14 victory

KINGSTON, September 4, 2020 - In a landslide victory, the ruling Jamaica Labour Party, JLP was returned to power in yesterday’s general elections, winning 49 seats to the People’s National Party’s fourteen out of the 63 parliamentary seats that were up for grabs.

JAMAICA | Jamaica records 66 new COVID-19 Cases

KINGSTON, Jamaica  August 27, 2020 - As Jamaica continues to to battle the proliferation of the Coronavirus  across the island, the Ministry of Health recorded 66 new confirmed COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, bringing the total cases on record for the island to 1,870.
