BARBADOS | B'dos to relinquish sovereign ties with Britain in a year, will Jamaica follow suit?

BRIDGETOWN, September 16, 2020 – Barbados, one of the Commonwealth countries in the Caribbean with the closest affinity to England, will finally cut its umbilical cord with the British Monarchy and will become a Republic within the next 14 months. This move has placed pressure on the Jamaican government to follow suit as many Jamaicans feel their country should have been a republic years ago.

BARBADOS | Updated travel protocols for Barbados take effect August 5

BARBADOS | Mottley welcomes Inter Caribbean Airways Barbados hub

BARBADOS | Nine of 95 Ghanaian nurses test positive for COVID-19

BRIDGETOWN,  Barbados, Aug. 1, 2020 - Barbados has recorded 12 new cases of COVID-19, acting Chief Medical Officer Dr. Kenneth George announced Saturday. He told a news conference that of 248 tests conducted on Friday, 12 returned positive results.

BARBADOS | Ghanaian Nurses Arrive In Barbados to bolster healthcare sector

BRIDGETOWN, BARBADOS. August 1, 2020 - Ninety-five nurses from the Republic of Ghana in West Africa will be on the job at the end of their quarentine period in two weeks, after arriving  in Barbados on Thursday July 30 on a two-year assignment, aimed at bolstering the nursing complement in the public health sector on the island.
