Commonwealth Champions, Kemar Bailey-Cole and Kaliese Spencer followed up with victories at Sunday's Diamond League meet in Birmingham, England, but Rasheed Dwyer, another Commonwealth champion, was defeated in the 200 metres. Dwyer finished third in 20.58 seconds to countryman Nickel Ashmeade 20.33.

Victory kept Ashmeade ahead of second placed Panamanian, Alonso Edwards' 20.35 in the Diamond Trophy race.

Bailey-Cole had led a Jamaican one-two in the men's 100 metres in 10.08, beating Nesta Carter, 10.13, and American Michael Rodgers, 10.15.

Commonwealth bronze medallist Kerron Stewart claimed her biggest victory on the circuit, with 11.22 seconds in the 100 metres. She defeated French woman Myriam Soumare, 11.25, and Britain's Asher Phillip, 11.26 seconds. Tori Bowie, the fastest woman this year, had pulled up half-way with cramps.

It was business as usual however for Kaliese Spencer. Spencer, the runaway Diamond Trophy leader won the 400 metre hurdles in the second fastest time this year, with 53.80 seconds. She was trailed to the line by Edith Child of Britain, 54.89, and Denisa Rosolová of the Czech Republic, 55.65.
