GUYANA | GECOM Coalition Commissioners cry foul, advocate fresh elections

GEORGETOWN, Guyana, Aug. 2, 2020- The three GECOM Commissioners appointed by the A Partnership for National Unity+Alliance For Change coalition, were not at all happy with the fact that the Chief Elections Officer, Keith Lowenfield on Sunday presented his report of the March 2, 2020 general and regional elections based on the figures generated from the national vote recount.

GEORGETOWN,  Guyana, The Guyana Chronicle, July 26, 2020 -- In a legal battle of words that spanned more than five hours on Saturday, former Attorney General of Trinidad and Tobago, Senior Counsel John Jeremie, told the Court of Appeal that the Guyana Elections Commission (GECOM) has no other choice than to declare the results of the General and Regional Elections based on the 10 Declarations made by the Returning Officers last March.

GUYANA | Election results delayed again! High Court now asked, What's a valid vote?

GEORGETOWN, Guyana, July 14, 2020 – Hours before the CEO of the Guyana Elections Commission, Keith Lowenfield was due to hand in report to GECOM’s  Chair Retired Justice Claudette Singh, a court case was filed by  community organizer, Ms Misenga Jones, asking the High Court  among other things, to decide what constitutes a valid ballot.

GUYANA | Lowenfield to submit report based on orders from GECOM Chair

GEORGETOWN,  Guyana, July 14, 2020- Following the rejection of Saturday’s report to the Guyana Elections Commission by the Chief Election Officer,  Chair of the Guyana Elections Commission has now instructed him to submit a report in keeping with her original request.

GUYANA | Chief Elections Officer submits report with original Region Four declaration to give APNU+AFC win

GEORGETOWN, Guyana, July 11, 2020 - Chief Election Officer Keith Lowenfield on Saturday handed in his final report on the elections to the GECOM Chair showing the incumbent APNU+AFC with the majority of votes. However,  one of the PPP nominated Commissioners, Sase Gunraj, says the report as an “eyepass” or disrespect to the Commission, on the basis that Lowenfield was in violation of the instructions from the GECOM Chair.
