Guyana soon to establish Petroleum Commission

GUYANA | Chief Justice denies request to stop house-to-house registration

GEORGETOWN, July 23, 2019 - Guyana's Chief Justice Roxane George-Wiltshire today denied a request for an order to stop the Guyana Elections Commission (GECOM) from continuing its now four-day old house-to-house registration process. The request was made in an application to the court by political commentator, Christopher Ram.

GEORGETOWN,  Guyana, July 23, 2019 - With some twenty thousand persons already registered in the Guyana Elections Commission's National House-to-House registration process which begun two days ago, Guyana's High Court will today begin hearing a request by Attorney-at-Law and political commentator, Christopher Ram on whether to block the GECOM from going ahead with house-to-house registration.
