PM Thanks EU for J$2.3 Billion in Budget Support Payments

Government today received budget support payments from the European Union totaling J$2.3 billion to support debt reduction, growth enhancement and poverty reduction in sugar dependent areas in keeping with the commitments of the Government of Jamaica under the national Economic Reform Programme.

KINGSTON, Jamaica, September 7, 2015 - The Simón Bolívar Cultural Centre was officially opened yesterday, standing as another symbol of the bonds of friendship between Jamaica and Venezuela. Prime Minister Portia Simpson Miller and President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, cut the ribbon at the ceremony held at the facility’s North Parade location, downtown Kingston.
