CARICOM | Amidst Climate Change, Jamaica wants trade concessions for small states

GENEVA, Switzerland, Sept. 10, 2019 - The Government of Jamaica has made an urgent call for members of the World Trade Organization to facilitate the necessary trade concessions, special and differential treatment and flexibilities that could assist in addressing the structural and capacity constraints in the markets of Small Island Developing States (SIDS).

JAMAICA | Outram River Discolouration Confirmed As Red Tide

KINGSTON, Jamaica August 22, 2019 - The National Environment and Planning Agency (NEPA) is confirming that the ‘reddish-pink’ discolouration of the Outram River that runs through Port Maria in St Mary is due to the overgrowth of specific species of algae resulting in the phenomenon known as Red Tide.
