NY Gang member pleads not guilty in shooting death of Jamaican

NEW YORK, Sept 15, CMC – A reputed member of the Folk Nation gang has pleaded not guilty to killing Carey Gabay,  the Jamaican-born legal aide to New York Governor Andrew Cuomo during what police said was a wild shootout at a Caribbean J’Ouvert celebration in Brooklyn, last year.

Popular clergyman Rev Al Miller slapped with million dollar fine

KINGSTON, Jamaica, Sept 15, CMC – Popular clergyman, Reverend Merrick ‘Al’ Miller was Thursday slapped with a one million dollar (One Jamaica dollar =US$0.008 cents) fine less than two months after he was found guilty of attempting to pervert the course of justice.

Byles expects Jamaica's economic growth to continue

KINGSTON. September 15, 2016 - Co-Chair of the Economic Programme Oversight Committee (EPOC), Richard Byles, has described the 1.1 per cent growth in gross domestic product (GDP) for the April to June quarter as “pretty good”, and that he expects the country to continue this momentum.
