The Jamaica Tourist Board (JTB) is to revamp its marketing strategies, to ensure that Jamaica achieves its growth targets in the tourism sector. This is the word from Tourism Minister Ed bartlett as he made his contribution to the 2016/17 Sectoral Debate in the House of Representatives.
Tourism Minister Edmund Bartlett, says the recently commissioned Tourism Demand Study has been useful in providing the empirical data to allow for effective planning and identification of goods and services in the tourism sector.
MONTEGO BAY, MAY 3, 2016 - Tourism Minister, Hon. Edmund Bartlett says indications are that visitor arrivals during the 2015/2016 Winter Tourism Season were not as robust as expected, pointing out that the Winter Tourist Season, which started on December 15 and ended April 15, might have been impacted by the February 25 general election as well as the presence of the Zika virus.
Hundreds of overseas buyers and local suppliers in the tourism sector are expected to converge at the Montego Bay Convention Centre, St. James, from September 20 to 22, for the 25th staging of Jamaica Product Exchange (JAPEX).
