JAMAICA | Infinity Cooperative Credit Union Launched: A New Era in Jamaican Financial Services

MONTEGO BAY, Jamaica, February 21, 2025 - – In a landmark move within Jamaica’s financial sector, Educom Cooperative Credit Union and Gateway Cooperative Credit Union have officially merged to form Infinity Cooperative Credit Union, Jamaica Limited. The merger, which took effect on February 1, 2025, creates a stronger, more efficient institution with a broader reach and enhanced services for its members.
Reverend Glenroy Clarke, President of the Board of Directors for Infinity, shared insights into the strategic decision behind the merger. Speaking on Nationwide This Morning on February 19, 2025, he highlighted the need for improved efficiency, better utilization of resources, and an expansion of financial solutions for members. “We want to be more efficient and coordinated in the use of credit union resources and expertise, and to strengthen our capacity to serve our members,” Clarke explained.
With 13 branches across the island, Infinity Credit Union now boasts a membership of 178,000 individuals and an asset base exceeding JMD 31 billion. While the new entity retains the existing branches of both former credit unions, Clarke emphasized the potential for further expansion to serve more Jamaicans.
A Name that Symbolizes Endless Possibilities
The name Infinity was chosen through a member-driven competition, reflecting the vision of boundless opportunities for financial growth. Clarke proudly introduced the tagline: "Where possibilities are endless," reinforcing the credit union’s mission to empower its members.
“Infinity allows our members to actualize their dreams, no matter how big or small,” Clarke stated. “There is no limit on what they can achieve as a result of their partnership with us.”
Enhanced Services & Exciting Financial Offers
As part of its commitment to delivering innovative financial solutions, Infinity Cooperative Credit Union has introduced several new offerings under its "Possibilities Packages." These include:
- Infinity Drive – A no-money-down car loan with up to 120 months for repayment.
- Infinity Home – Assistance with deposit and closing costs for purchasing a home.
- Infinity Debt Reset – A program designed to help members lower their monthly expenses and manage debt more effectively.
- Payment Holiday – Special incentives allowing members to enjoy temporary relief from loan payments.
Additionally, Infinity has upgraded its online banking platform, allowing members to pay bills, check balances, and transfer funds from the comfort of their homes.
Leadership and the Future of Infinity
Guiding this new chapter is CEO Camille Kambo-Jomon, formerly the COO of Educom Credit Union. Clarke described her as a "cutting-edge 21st-century leader" poised to take Infinity to new heights.
While Clarke acknowledged that Infinity is not the largest credit union in Jamaica, he confidently declared it to be the best in service. “Under the stronger brand of Infinity, we look forward to continuing the exceptional service our members are accustomed to while enriching and adding value to their lives.”
With a foundation built on member-focused services, a strong financial base, and a vision for expansion, Infinity Cooperative Credit Union is set to redefine Jamaica’s credit union landscape.
