World Coaches Day Awards & Gala Returns After A Two Year Break

NEW YORK, NY. SUNDAY, OCTOBER 23, 2022 -- This year's World Coaches Day event will be held on November 13, at the Jericho Terrace Banquet Hall, Long Island, New York, and promises to be even more exciting than prior years.

Garth GayleThe event will honor coaches from Track & Field Athletics and other disciplines, while also providing networking opportunities and information about the latest developments in the coaching profession.

This year, eleven (11) coaches will be recognized for their outstanding contribution and demonstrated commitment to coaching education, from the grassroots to the elite levels. They are; Charles Gilreath – Athletics; Donald Ross – Athletics; Lenroy Raffington – Athletics; Lennox Graham – Athletics; Fritz A. Casimir - Football/Soccer; Neil Harrison – Athletics; Micheal Dyke – Athletics; Davian Clarke – Athletics; Lacena Golding-Clarke – Athletics; Nicole Grant-Brown – Gymnastics and Vernell Nelson – Volleyball. 

With a panel of keynote speakers from around the world, headlined by Garth Gayle, president of the Jamaica Athletics Administrative Association (JAAA), packaged alongside a range of interactive events, organizers are promising that there will be something for everyone, even with just a passing interest in sports in general and Track & Field Athletics, in particular.

Lacena Golding Clarke“Whether you're an experienced coach or just starting out, this is an event not to be missed”, offered Clive ‘Cornbread’ Walters, a certified coach and head of the 2C2W Academy, Long Island, a program dedicated to helping athletes of all ages and abilities develop the skills and confidence they need to succeed on and off the playing field.

 The first event of its kind was held at the New York Armory, NYC, in 2017 after it was conceptualized by Walters, a year earlier.

“By supporting coaches on this day, we can help to ensure that they continue to make a difference in the lives of their athletes and the world around them”.

 Neil HarrisThe event will celebrate the positive impact that coaches have on society and an opportunity to recognize the efforts of coaches around the world who work tirelessly to develop the skills and character of their athletes. It is also a day to promote the importance of coaching and to encourage more people to get involved in this rewarding profession.
