JAMAICA | Winston 'Babatunde' Witter has died at the age of 64

KINGSTON,  February 16, 2022 -  One of Jamaica’s most colourful journalist, columnist, radio talk show host Winston "Babatunde '' Witter has died. He was 64.

A Press release from the Minister of Culture, Gender, Entertainment and Sport, Olivia ‘Babsy’ Grange said  Witter passed away at the University Hospital of the West Indies this morning after battling liver complications for some time.

Minister Grange  said that she is deeply saddened by Witter’s death, noting that  Winston  also called ‘Babatunde' was a former journalist, columnist, radio talk show host and University of the West Indies lecturer.

She said Mr Witter, who was ailing for some time, died from liver complications this morning at age 64 and He was a patient at the University Hospital of the West Indies.

"During his illness, I kept in touch with 'Babatunde' whom I regarded as my friend, and I gave him support to the extent that I could. I was also in contact with his family members who were there for him throughout his difficulties,” Minister Grange said.
